Monte Carlo Performance Analysis of the Brazilian Satellite Launcher Vehicle Last Stage

Eng. Tanara Caleffi, SP-BRAZIL

Abstract

The objective of this work was to analyze the BSLV's last stage gyroscopic stabilization effectiveness, considering the perturbations present during its flight. Several trajectories were simulated with a 6 DOF program. The results were analyzed comparing the orbital elements of the satellite's final orbit after injection. Mass and thrust variations contributed with the largest dispersions, followed by uncertainties of attitude due to the presence of a limit cycle. However, the final analysis showed that the gyroscopic stabilization was effective enough to keep the satellite within the desired final orbit.
