Abstract

Presented is a summary of the testing of Naval Space Command's newly implemented PPT3 analytic orbit theory, which adds the SGP4 deep space modeling to the existing drag-modified Brouwer theory currently used to support NAVSPACECOM operations. The test program isolates each model perturbation; the Brouwer zonal theory, the drag model, the lunar/solar gravitation, and the resonance effects for half-day and one-day periods, comparing each to similar controlled numerical integrations. The full PPT3 theory is then compared to reference orbits generated by numerical integrations in a realistic, complex environment.
